Pregnant Women and Novel Influenza A (H1N1) Virus New York State Department of Health provides updated information on H1N1 influenza, including recommendations for targeted at-risk groups. Current recommendations for pregnant women include H1N1 vaccination and treatment of flu-like illness as soon as possible. To read more information about H1N1 Flu > Text4Baby Mohawk Valley Perinatal Network, in conjunction with the Association of Perinatal Networks of New York, is part of a new national initiative to promote healthy pregnancies and birth outcomes. Text4baby is a free mobile information service designed to promote healthy birth outcomes. Text4baby is the largest national mobile health initiative to date, and is being launched by an unprecedented group of public and private partners, including the White House and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. To learn more about text4baby > Oneida-Madison Give Kids a Smile On February 6, 2010, 49 children received preventive dental care, including cleanings, sealants and fluoride treatment, thanks to a partnership of Faxton-St. Luke's Dental Residency Program, Mohawk Valley Perinatal Network and Upstate Cerebral Palsy and multiple local funders. Nearly all the children were referred to a dental home to assure that children have good dental care in the future. Haldenwang and other local health leaders are participants in the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Ladder to Leadership Program. This initiative aims to enhance the leadership capacity of community-based nonprofit health and health-related organizations serving vulnerable populations. As part of this initiative, Ms. Haldenwang and the access to care action team are developing a documentary to illustrate the strengths and challenges of the healthcare system from the perspective of patients and providers.
